Rita, Shaun and Charlie have dreams like anybody else but difference makes independence, earning a living and being treated as equal all the harder to achieve.

One in 5 is the resulting short film made through the 1 in 5 Film Project – a joint initiative of Torrid Films and Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre through the support of the NSW Government through Arts NSW and Ageing, Disability and Home Care. Zoë Harvey wrote, produced and directed. The script was developed in a series of weekend workshops in consultation with project partner, Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre (RNC). RNC Project Producer, Susan Johnson and Principal Cast Drama Coach, Caroline Downs consulted on the script throughout the workshop and development stage. The film stars Celeste Emslie, Gerard O’Dwyer, Vaughn Akinin and Natalie Bacci. Kiki Dillon production managed, Paul Howard shot it, Dave Rae did location sound, Andrew (Undi) Lee art directed, Quennie Diesta did make-up, Gwenalina Sputore edited, Brendan Dillon colour graded.
